My mother surprised me last year by telling me that she kept all the letters I sent home from Vietnam. I read them again and they refreshed some memories for me that I had forgotten. I thought I'd share one or two of them.

I sent this letter home in Jan. of 1969. The time line is when the unit was about to being desiginated M Co 75th Rangers. We just didn't know it yet.

At this stage of the conflict, I think most of us thought we were doing the right thing. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing I guess. My quouting of Thomas Paine shows how easy it is to be manipulated when you're young and have limited experience in life. That's why armies are made up of young men. They haven't figured it out yet. I think we all can relate to that now.
